Mid Season Sparty Review
The Mid Season SpartyMSU.com football Conference was held this Oct. 14.
Members from Traverse City, Royal Oak, Clarkston, East Lansing, Kazoo, Annapolis Md., Bellingham Washington attended.
Topic: What have we learned about the New Spartans….
First off, Traverse City had the largest contingent so, its their Duty to buy the first 3 rounds… The Crown Shots, Ouzo were washed down with the Requisite Bells… Once we were properly Refreshed with the Appropriate beverages we were ready to review the Season so far.
Conclusion from our Meeting (Still Sober, but, we’re calling taxis…..): This is a different Team than we have watched since Bobby Williams took the Helm. There is an intangible “Feeling” we are getting from the Stands…. A Feeling of Confidence, Pride, Team Spirit, and Purpose that has not been part of the Spartan Culture in a LONG time….Even in the NW game.. . the Feeling was different on the Field (From previous years) The players seem to have embraced the opportunity to be a Spartan, and to represent all of us (Michigan State University, the Fans, the Alumni, the Student Body) on the field. This opportunity is a Big and Serious Responsibility…. These intangibles are surfacing in Victories, Endurance, Focus, and overall success as players. ..... In the recent past, We agree the players might have taken the opportunity to be a Spartan for granted. Not This year....
There is not one team on the schedule they can’t beat….But, It will depend on preparation, and how the team continues to stay focused and together. If the first 4 games, and Indy game is an indication. We can go 8 – 4.
We Grade the team at Mid Point: B+ (A-)
How we reached the Conclusion: 4 – 5 beers… 4 – 5 Shots… The pool tables decided opinion conflicts.. and One of took notes….. Hey Andy.. Hows those BoilerMakers feeling today…???

Saint-Dic (Sr.) will play on Sundays…. What an asset to the team….
Ringer (Jr.) will be one of, if not the best back in MSU history…
Hoyer (Jr.) Comp. - 115, Attempts – 188, Intercepts – 3, Great Leader….
Thomas (Jr.) avgs 18 yds a catch. What a Playmaker !
“D” Front: Studs !
“O” Front: Excellent protection and completing assignments !
Boleski (Jr.) had a couple good kicks where he stuck it on the 1, and or just in the end zone. Often its on the 10 or so.. not deep enough. He has High potential…
Swenson: (So.) DNBTU …. Huge Potential !! We want to see him nail a few 55yrders.. He’s got the ability and talent !
Key: Biggest bestest Surprise of the year ! Way to go Mr. Travis Key !
Davis-Clark: 29 Solo Tackles so far.. and its only half way….
Entire”D”: We’re all partial to the “D”: Kalab, Jones, SirDarean, Gordon, Nehemiah, Baldwin, Otis, Rucker, Kershaw, Misch….. You guys will make or break the team.. Your Studs !!

Dantonio: He is the Real Deal.. The Spartan Nation is Behind him 110%
Our Fear is that he might lust for more…… like so many of the coaches have, Perles included.
But….. The more we get to know him through the Press Conf. / Articles./ Players comments , He seems to be the most genuine Coach since Perles, and Duffy.. This is a BIG Statement! Wish we could ask him in person….. get an impression to help spread the Spartan Gospel. But... We're just Regular guys in the Stands....

There were a couple poor play choices in the Wisconsin game, and the lack of running Ringer in OT in the NW game. But, not too bad... Heck of alot better than last year...
There seems to a respect for Tradition we haven’t seen in a while. Tradition, brings respect for the Opportunities that have been given the students chosen to be Spartans.
This team can play with anyone ! The Problem is that Though We 100% believe the Spartans can beat everyone left on their schedule, the quality of the opponents ramps up from here on out, and we have only 2 home games left.
We Toast to the Spartans and New Coaches ! ... Raise our Shot glasses in Suport !!!
We've had so much to bitch about over the last 6 or more years.. 100% Consensus that this is a New Successfull era... Nothing to realy Complain about ... What a Change....!!! Thank you Dantonio... We'll try to get more butts in the stands....
