Our Condolences to Coach Hoeppner’s family.  The SpartyMSU crew has lost 2 to friends to Brain Cancer tumors: Sparty Pete Fraser, and Dan Weld. Unfortunately we are all too aware of the devastation this disease brings to family and friends. ……A Toast to Coach Hoeppner and our Friends Pete and Dan!....

Looking at Indy’s schedule, WTF (What the Frick) ? Who makes these schedules Capt. Kangaroo ???? ….They miss scUM and the Bucknuts this year all together. Spartys have the 4th toughest schedule in the nation, Indy plays WMU in Kazoo…WTF ?

The best player they have coming back is 6foot 7 WR Jim Hardy, This guy can pull it down, But… Between Davis – Kendell, Weaver, Wiley and Warrick… He aint got no chance. Plus: the pressure on the QB (Kellen Lewis),  Sparty will have him covered, since their “O” line (Like last year) is a big question mark….  The Indy CBs are also a strong point, but, the “D’ line isn’t….. Javon will have a field day with all the day light in front of him. Its kind of like the Hulk Hogan slogan: “What you gunna do… When the Ringer runs WILD on YOU??.....

After this game, We’re going to take the “Old Brass Spittoon” and put it in the Duffy Building…till next year….

But, this is it SpartyMSU friends… Maybe 1 more “W” after this one for the entire season….. The Dog days of the schedule are upon us….  Grab your Rosaries, and say your prayers for the health of the team as we approach Nov. 3…..

Ohio State Buckeyes (2006 record:12 - 1, 8 - 0 in the Big Ten)

Since 1975 the Spartans have only won 4 games against OSU, the last win was in 1999…. We all dislike the Buckeyes and scUM, but there’s a difference between them. scUM Fans are arrogant, rude, condescending, assholes, where OSU fans are down right just mean. Face it, there is nothing else in Columbus or that part of Ohio (Blue Jackets don’t count as a real team….) so they just are rabid fans. Been there, surrounded in a Sea of Red… Like the 100,000 seat Toilet Bowl in AA, I won’t go back…..

Last Year, Gavin and I sold our tickets to OSU fans ( Like many Spartans) we used the cash to buy beer and watch the Spartys and the Tiger’s games at the Peanut Barrel….  Hey for the price they paid for the tickets, they could have them… > $150…. Better time in the Barrel, than in the stands watching the John L. coached 38 – 7 debacle.

This year, the Bucknuts just reloaded, not having to retool, or rebuild. The Defensive front is almost all new, but, they are a heck of a unit. The LBs are plugging the holes (James Laurinaitis: 53 solo tackles, and the Bronco Nagurski Trophy), and DEs putting pressure on the QB. This will be the biggest test so far for our Spartans. Hoyer will have to be accurate in the air, and The “O” Front with our FBs have to open space for Javon and Caulcrick.

As for the Spartan “D”, its improved, its better than last year, Spartans allowed 1 TD in each quarter, 17 points in the second. I believe that we will limit this to less this year. And we must not allow sacks on Hoyer, Stanton was on his back 4 times last year.

It hurts to say, I just want to get out of Ohio Healthy…. This one will be a Loss for our Beloved Spartans…. After October 20 we are 6 – 2….
