This fall , SpartyMSU.com Crew will grade the "Regular Guy" Tailgaters vs. "Opietini" and the Games week by week  to see whos out in left field ...and whos been drinking way too much..... And Who really knows his Spartans....

We all have agreed to stop the discussions if the beer goggles get to thick, and get back to it later this week. ....We'll Step out of the bar... put the whiteboard marker down.... Call a cab....  Tonights Tap offers us "Old Bushmills" and Bass Ale... That makes the discussions smoother....

ES say's ( http://www.enlightenedspartan.com )  that this one is a loss, we all agree.... Damn.... Difficult to write....Just hope that we stay healthy here and beyond.  But, This is the point where either Sparty puts it together or... same old... same old... By putting it together I mean, not playing like a team from Sister Mary's Orphanage for the blind. That was the case a couple times last season. ....Now...We really should see the Coaching stand up. Again Coach Dantonio: We still have Faith in you.....

We avoided Camp Randall and the Bucky Badgers last year. This was a good thing..... Of all the teams we dislike the most, scUm is #1, and Wisconsin #2...Don't like any of their coaches or programs... Bo Ryan, nope... none of us like him at all....Why would any school have a rodent for a mascot... Both schools (scUm and W) have Large Rats for mascots... A Dancing Bucky the Rodent...You've all seen him on the sidelines... For Pete's Sake... Why...?

Wisky's receivers are good; they will challenge Otis, Warrick and Kendall. Wisky was 5th in the Big Ten last year in pressuring the QB, with our improved "O" line, we Should...Hopefully...pray to keep them off of Hoyer. John Master and Crew keep Hoyer healthy. As much as I like Dixon and Foles, Hoyer is the Man for this year.   Wisky's pass defense was 2nd in the nation last year, thank God they graduated Staellmacher and Rogers... This will make it a little more open for Terry Love and just enough to keep the run alive.

The vulnerability will be at Rush "D" and plugging the holes created our line and fullbacks for Ringer and Caulcrick.  And the Spartan Game this year is all about the Run. That beast Holms will be relied on to open up some nice holes again..and again..and again...We will have to use DNBTU (Brett Swenson) to give us 6 or more... With good pressure on The QB (They don't yet know who will start, probably Donovan) we should keep the air game down, and plug holes with Kaleb.

But, at the end....a good showing for the Spartans, We'll leave Camp Randall with an "L".  After Sept. 29 we are 4 - 1.

Northwestern Wild Cats (2006 record:4 - 8, 2 - 6 in the Big Ten)

Wow what an away game last year. One of the few bright spots of  2006. Stanton and the "D" engineered a Studly Spartan Style Smothering of NW in the 3rd and 4th quarter last year.  Our Favorite Blogger, ES (www.enlightenedspartan.com ) called it the "...Greatest come back in history of football"....yeah well...Word up !!!!!  No lie... he was dead nuts right! With 10 minutes to play in the third, Spartans were down 38 - 3..... Looks hopeless,  I thought so while sitting on my couch... But the came back to Win... 41 - 38... Wow... Spartan "D" Manned up, and held'em to allow Stanton to work his magic.....That was a Stanton Victory not a John L. Cowboy comeback....

On to this year....We are a better team this year so if we can put that Come back miracle / almost drubbing away, just think what the Green can do in Spartan stadium.

Tyrell Sutton... We'll have to keep the holes plugged... he's a good RB... Their best weapon and he is only a Soph.  They have a couple decent receivers in Brewer and Peterman.  But with a combination of a weaker NW "O" line and good pressure up front from the improved Green "D", and LBs, should be OK.

Ringer / Caulcrick should run wild on Cats, nuph said..... Kicker match ups our DNBTU (Brett) and their Freshman Demos... Swenson will be putting up 3s......vs. Demos miss R and miss L attempts....

Spartans win this one, "W" for the Dr........... But now the Season gets REAL Scary.... Except for Home with Indy and at Purdue... Hang on to your shot glasses SpartyMSU Friends.... We are now 5 -1 for the season and hope we're healthy going into this half of the season.... Coaching will now be more important than ever in the year.
