Letter To Coach Dantonio

Coach Dantonio,
Welcome to MSU, we believe you and your staff are the best selection for MSU and are looking forward to cheering you on from the stands for Many… Many years. What follows is a list of Comments and Questions that still linger…..

These comments are couched from the perspective of a Non-Sports Pundit, they are from the “Regular Joe”, type Spartan Fan. Most of us in the stands are of this variety….

1) Forth Quarter Effort. Either Previous Coaching or Player conditioning or Both seems to be responsible for implosion after implosion.  The biggest last year (and there have been many in the past 4 years) was Notre Dame. Sitting through Hurricane type weather to watch that bowel rumbling, enthusiasm crushing debacle was painful at best.  What is your plan to over come fourth quarter implosions ?

2) Michigan Losses. ‘Nuff Said.  Do you have a business plan approach to putting the Rivalry back on track ? Meaning, “Ws” in the Stat column ?  I think Don Canham at Uof M was successful in his approach with Bo to eventually tilt the rivalry back to their favor, whats the Spartan approach ?

3) Longevity: We have had several Coaches in the last 15 years. What is your intention as Head Coach at Michigan State ?  Do you  secretly lust for a NFL or another University Position ?

Last but not least….

4) Last year I witnessed several Coaching blunders. Not least of which were: Coaches in the press box "perceived" as not watching game, not paying attention to plays (I saw with Binoculars at the UofM game and couldn’t believe it), No clear communication on special teams, as in: when or when not to go in (Don’t need to tell anyone which game that was…)  What will you do to straighten out coaching issues / focus ?

Again,  I am sure that all if us in the Spartan Nation, look forward to a new, successful, long term approach that we hope you bring.  We all are hoping to see positive changes by the  implementation of your ideas / plans / schemes . Welcome Home to East Lansing !

Go Green !
Best regards,
