The Annual SpartyMSU Best of East Lansing Poll.... Voting done by the "Regular Joes"...

Every year that we've written a blog, we have always had the "Best Of" poll mid Football season (October) and for the Summer Doldrums (June), even if our Choices don't change, gives everyone a starting place for preparing for those longer days, Pre-tailgate days, or Places to go when we get tickets to a Izzo game.
 
Topping the List... The ever Tasty, Romantic, ever popular, Best Restaurant Selection:
El Azteco. Yup, This tops all other restaurants. The Ethic Flare, The Historic Ambiance, the Nacho and Beer Special. Yeah, I've taken the Mrs. there for 16  of our 22 wedding anniversaries.  I remember dining in the "Basement" underneath Campbell's Smoke Shoppe. The Salsa varies week to week, that's always great to see how you'll burn the next day....Get an Anniversary Dinner, for under $30, and that includes the pitcher of Beer. Can you say, "Hey Big Spender...."  I Love El Az...!!

Best Ice-Cream: Melting Moments... Gimme a Single of Oreo... Yummmm !! Mal, glad your open late, your the best Ice-Cream person there is...!!!

Best Bar:  Peanut Barrel.. But, also in the voting,  is the new Dublin... But, Since Mac's is not the same Mac's of '81, the "Barrel" has got to be the Top Dog. Pass me an Oberon Gavin.....

Best Beer: Tough one, depends on who's buying... A Free Beer isn't a Bad Beer.... But, Oberon & Bass lead the Long List.

Best News Paper: LSJ or State News... ??? God Knows it aint the Free Press rag., I canceled that subscription a long time ago, and haven't read it since. LSJ won out over State News, only because of more well rounded sporting section and better Sudoku.

Best / Top 3 SpartyMSU Current Spartan Sports Figures:
#1 Tom Izzo. He has done more for MSU, then anyone since Biggie, or Duffy. I see the New "Izzo School of Medicine" being built and named after him and his exemplary examples. Charity work, Graduation rates, Giving young men an exceptional and positive role model, Top Basketball program in America for the last 10 years (ESPN). Can't say enough about Mr. Izzo. Thank You !

Tie #2 Drew Neitzel. First Team All Big Ten, All American, leader of the Basketball Team. Your the leader, it will be fun to watch you teach the new Freshman the Sparty traditions of BBall!

Tie #2 Drew Stanton. Yeah, he's a Detroit Lion now, not a Spartan now, but he was the best QB we've had in a long time. He was Michigan Male Athlete of the Year, 2, 252 yds, 61% completion, we'll miss him, sorry he could play for the Dr.

Tie #3 Jeff Lerg: Jeff the Giant, Jeff the Stopper, Jeff the Sophmore. The Goalie of the 2007 NCAA Ice Hockey Champions.  Loved to watch'em on TV, hope to get tickets next season for a couple games. You go Jeff !!!!

Tie #3 Sir Darean Adams: Just like the guy. Like to watch him play, I'm a sucker for the "D"... Think He'll have a Big Year !  Along with the entire Team, Big Game on Nov. 3 !

Best New Coach: The DR !!!!  Mr. D, Mark, Dantonio, Coach MD, "You can call me Mark, you can call me Marky, you can call me MD, But you'd better call me Coach !"  Yes Sir DR Coach ! We Believe in You Bro !!!  See you from the Stands !
